Losing My Online Cherry - Match.com

My first online dating experience was with Match.com. I didn't subscribe right away, I just dabbled a bit. That is part of the genius behind Match...they let you look but you can't communicate if you find someone interesting.

I was honestly at a loss as to what to say about myself. I was still in the divorce process and had been off the market for 7 years. I was ate up with guilt, but eager to start a new chapter in my life.

How do you describe yourself and your hobbies? If I wrote about what I really did day to day it would be obvious why I was single. Does laundry and housework count as a hobby?

First of all there are some important questions in your profile, which you really should know the answers to....but here's the catch, how honest should one be in your responses?

Do you want kids?
This first go around I said yes, it never dawned on me that that response might scare some men off.

Ethnicity
At least Match lets you choose a couple of options here...I'm half Japanese/Caucasian.

Body Type
Lord have mercy! All I can say is a man must of designed these questions...how many women want to honestly describe their body type? Do I put average, curvy, voluptuous or a few extra pounds? Doesn't the average woman have "a few extra pounds" so that makes me average right....or am I curvy?

Do I smoke or drink?
Socially drink and no smoking for me.

Am I the only one stressing over filling out my profile?

Come back later this week for the rest of my experience with the Match profile.
